What happens when attraction meets uncertainty?

Courtship is an ongoing series of paintings that uses the language of tennis to explore the early stages of connection: the anticipation, the small gestures, the hesitation, and the courage it takes to make a move.

Each painting captures a different moment in the game, where neither person knows quite what will happen next. The court becomes a space for all the things that happen between people before anything is certain; the things left unsaid, the signals we try to read, and the delicate balance between protecting our independence and letting someone in.

Through bold colour, layered patterns and expressive texture, the series approaches relationships with curiosity and a little humour. Because sometimes, when it comes to people, you can know the rules and still have no idea how the game will go.
